BEST Hamburgers in Austin

I ordered one of Stallion Grill's hamburgers on Friday and was VERY impressed. The buns are homemade which is an added bonus to an already delicious menu item. The hamburger patty was cooked to perfection and piled high with lettuce, tomato, onion, and melted cheese. I could barely eat half of it. It's definitely something you could split between 2 for lunch or take home the leftovers for dinner. I had french fries and onion rings - both were perfectly seasoned and hot from the fryer. This is THE place in Austin for a homecooked hamburger. I'm a fan for life!

Stallion Grill is THE place to go in Austin if you are looking for a home-cooked meal. The food isn't fancy - just good ole' Southern comfort food. I'm a huge fan of anything that is pan-fried, smothered, cooked with bacon, creamed, cheese covered, and other wonderful artery-clogging goodness that is soul food. I've found it hard to find a meal like this in Austin that is just good simple soul food without the hype. Though nothing fancy, there is something to be said about quality unassuming food in Austin... not always an easy thing to find.

I work nearby and enjoy Stallion's food, however...It is a disappointing feeling when you notice a ton of small things that would make the restaurant a lot better as a whole. The food is good but the attitude of some employees that work there is poor. And they seem to be the owners. They are not very professional. The girl at the cash register seems to be angry that she is even there. I thought her eyes were going to roll right out of her head. And their is obvious tension in that work place. The cleanliness could be improved greatly. It's a smoke house, I know, but come on. It is the bachelor pad of restaurants. I am not ignorant either. When this used to be Holiday House (different Owners) I worked there. The extra effort would be a payoff. This place has so much potential!
Pros: Portions are great! Food is good, great location
Cons: Service and Managment.
