Galindo Elementary School Reviews

My son has only been attending Galindo for a few weeks so far. I strongly dislike it. First, as you are walking your children to the school from wherever you find parking try not to get run over, as no parents slow down for 5 year olds crossing the street. All grades are crammed into the cafeteria in the morning. This is very hectic for my son. Why can't they just go to their classrooms? The teacher seems to not make any effort to talk to me when I come to pick him up. Maybe because none of the other parents speak english. I dont know but they need to try harder to communicate to parents.

The PRE-K teachers are very good. I feel lucky that my son is in company of great teachers. They are considerate and kind to children. Very committed, hard working and children like them instantly.

Galindo Elementary is a wonderful school. This is a school filled with teachers who really care about their students. The teachers here come early and stay late. Many student teachers are sent to this school because the teachers are so good at what they do. The principal is also very good with the teachers and students.

This school has very strong teachers, and an exceptional 3rd grade team. The teachers are there because they genuinely desire to educate the students.

I have a child in this school who has been a student since Pre-K. This started out as a strong school with strong teachers, however, things are changing rapidly. The art and PE classes are over-crowded with two to three classes at a time, which makes for a very frustrated teaching style. Parent involvement was high, but not so much anymore. Unfortunately, only one field trip this year, whereas last year we had four.

There is a genuine interest in the kids from administration and teachers. The kids are treated with fondness and respect and they return it to the teachers and to each other.

My oldest child has been a special education student at Galindo Elementary and I have been very pleased with the teachers and admninistration there. I think the special education curriculum is helpful. I see parental involvement at Galindo but not sure how it compares with other schools.
