Pflugerville Elementary School Reviews

In the few months my son has been in this school has been strenious. He comes home with hours of homework to do, teachers apparently have no patience when tutoring, and he gets alot of negative feedbacks. I wasn't even notified of my child failing in math until the day the progress report went home. He was doing well in the previous school and I don't understand how his grades dropped so dramatically in a 3 month period. The principal was unsympathetic and insisted the teachers were in the right? This school needs 2 focus more on 'positive' feedbacks & communication with the children and less on the drama (walking away from my child when he doesn't understand a math problem) & comments made to them (they should know kids repeat what they hear). I suggest any parent with a issues should talk w/the Superintendent's office 2 resolve b4 it's 2late

I think overall the staff is great, but like another parent said...The homework is a little much...And the pressure to pass the current TAKS test is really ridiculous, it gave my child a migraine and she is 9, they do not need that kind of stress at this age!!

We have had 3 principals in 3 years, and many times I feel like I'm educating my own children. I wish there wasn't so much homework. It takes hours to finish, check homework, and sign the myriad of forms and folders they send home. Some of the teachers are great, and others...not so great. The lunch room doubles as the auditorium, so there is never enough seating. Although with no child left behind, there aren't many performances to see now.

My childern have attended PES since they started school. The staff is excellant and my childern have always been challanged educationally in a positive environment. I would highly reccommend PES to anyone new to the area. Robin Johns, Pflugerville, TX
