Brushy Creek Elementary School Reviews

We had three children attend Brushy Creek and did not have a positive experience. The staff does not know how to handle kids who are not 90% or above. The principal Mr. Ryan is completely closed off to any parental input. The school could not accommodate any child with special needs. We pulled our three children out and they are much happier. My kindergartener's first experience with school at Brushy Creek was awful. She hated school.

Our son started attending Brushy Creek in 2007 and we are so blessed! He has had an amazing experience. Not only has he become more mature but also has developd interest in almost all the subjects- reading, math, writing, arts, music. Ms. Walsh, his teacher, is an amazing tutor and is a key contributor to the growth of these young minds. The new principal, Mr. Ryan, also seems to be much involved in school activities and makes it a point to interact with parents. We love the school and have recieved similar feedback from everyone else.

2 of our 3 children attended Brushy Creek Elementary. The school is outstanding, focusing on the key elements of strong academic foundation; character and social dev. Strong history of amazing parental and school partnership. The library is first rate and now serves as a center of activity. This school produces great readers and that leads to academic success. The administration is open, listens to parents and kids. Great campus, safety concious w/o being 'closed' off and school pride and inclusiveness are evident. The teachers are dedicated, smart, fun and clearly love kids in this age group. 4.5 stars out of 5, easily. The only area I would change is to improve is making advanced and enrichment classes more widely available to more advanced students. That is, all smart kids may not fit the 'gifted' slot yet they are far ahead of most -- these kids need AP classes.

Good school with great parental involvement. Teachers really care about the students

WOW! Brushy Creek is a TREASURE of wealth. The principal Ms. Amacher really has a heart for the kids, parents and her number one goal is to see that the children succeed. The diversity of the school is an extra bonus...having the ability to learn first hand the different cultures has been a blessing to my children. We have friends all over the world because of our connection with this school. Don't let the exterior fool you...Wisdom comes from AGE!

We love this school! The staff takes interest in each and every child. It is the mission of Brushy Creek Elementary to reach each and every student. Students and families have the ability to recieve afterschool tutoring free because it is paramount that each student be successful. The PTA is the most active I have ever seen. The raise over $60,000 and put it to use to help the entire learning community. The Library is opened to students and their families every Wednesday throughout the summer. The win every reading contest and you haven't experienced true culture until you have visited International Children's Day in the Fall every year. Brushy Creek Elementary is community focused, academically driven and the entire elementary (students, staff and parents) strive for academic, fine arts, physical fitness excellence!

My son has been attending Brushy Creek since we moved to Round Rock in 1998. His teachers have all been wonderful and helpful. They have been quick to notice any problems in reading and been very proactive in getting him the help he needed. It may not be the prettiest school on the block, but with the great parental support and awesome teaching staff, it has been a fun 6 years.
