Blackland Prairie Elementary School Reviews

Excellent teachers very involved parents wonderful campus. Slightly overcrowded

My daughter attended school at Blackland Prarie for 5 years and loved every single year. It is very crowded though and teachers make the best of it. We loved it there and felt safe, sad to see the new school boundries because my younger daughter will not be attending same school so we have chosen to go private school for both.

What a wonderful school. Teacher's are dedicated, but the school is overcrowded.

The school is good, the administration is highly committed to delivering a good education in a safe environment. Although a 'young' school, it is already over capacity, and the 5th grade teachers have a habit of assigning too much 'busy work' homework projects.

This school is well organized. There is a strong focus on reading and learning throughout. Our teacher is excellent. There are many opportunities for learning in areas of music and art with very good instructors. Parent involvement is excellent.

This is a very good school. The teachers are caring and very knowledgeable. Also, there are several fun activities for families to participate in through out the year. The growth issue is a definite concern. All portables are full and the parking - pick up/drop off is confusing.

Great school, very caring teachers and lots of afterschool support opportunities!

Excellent school. Great student counselor. Good diversity of students and teachers.

I have watched this school grow from inception. The teacher's and staff are very committed. Selection of teaching staff seems very well thought out. All the teachers I have been involved with will spend whatever time it takes to make a difference in the child's education. Discipline at first seemed to be lacking for chronic offenders of the school rules and regulations. This problem seems to have eased. Parent involvement is high, but limited to a select number of parents (God Bless this PTA). About the only problem I see with this school is a non-educaational one... parking confusion and limited drop off space. Coming problems could include overcrowding and the use of many portable buildings.

I have two children at this school. My child was having problems academically. I met with the Vice-Principal who was very concerned about the welfare of my child. She acted quickly to get the accomadations that he needed.

We have had an excellent experience at this school. We do not feel that the class is too large at 20 students (we just transferred from a school with 26 students in our classroom). In the short time we have been here the school has made the transition for my daughter very easy. We have received considerable feedback from our teacher concerning our daughter's performance. She has also made an effort to give extra time to our daughter in areas she is behind. All in all we are happy here with the school.

We recently moved to the district and have been very pleased with the school. The school has only been open for three years. The teachers display a great amount of concern and have very high expectations for all their students.

While this school has a committed, involved principal, the overall quality of the school has been disappointing. There is an involved community/parent group but a minority of volunteers do the majority of the work. Crucial programs have been cut and class sizes are large.

This an excellent school. Very overcrowded. The principal is excellent!
