Hendrickson High School Reviews

Wonderful, like-new school with caring faculty and staff. AP courses are great. Nice balance between extracurriculars - unlike many high schools, as much emphasis on arts and academics as athletics.

I really love this school...i just had one to graduate and one that will be attending the school next year. I also have to say that I really loved my daughters 12th grade principal he was very understanding and was always there when I needed him to be, if you had more staff that cared like that all school would be great..

HHS has been a great experience overall for our daughter. The principal has a passion to make Hendrickson a great place for ALL students to learn and excel. This year, teachers seem especially dedicated to putting our kids through rigorous coursework to prepare them for college. I wouldn't trade schools for anything!

I really enjoy Hendrickson It does involve lots of work for AP classes, but what school doesn't? They are gaining lots of extra curricular activities, like anime club, theatre, news paper, yearbook, debate, many sports including tennis, swimming, and golf, choir, band, FCA, foreign language clubs, UIL academic teams, and art club. The Academic teams for UIL are extrodinary, and have gone to state. With new coaches in football the record has really improved and the the new principal is great and nice. This is a school that is very accepting of students, while having the ability to challenge students.

I have to say that hendrickson, is very nice and new. Although I don't think there are a variety of extracurricular activites for the students. Not all kids would be interested in band, sports or debate. I also strongly believe, by talking to my child and her friends that teachers who are coaches...and teach another class cannot teach as well as other teachers.

Overall, the teachers are great - there are always a few exceptions but overall I am very pleased. We built a new home within 1 mile of Hendrickson just so both our kids would attend this high school. I am so glad we did!

I agree with the person above me, the school does have teachers who play severe favoritism. It seems that most of the teachers are really student friendly with people who are 'preps' like shopping non stop at Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, and American Eagle. And how she was talking about kids with the hole in their jeans, most of the teachers won't even say anything about the kids, but other kids like that goth type, the teachers will send them to the office the second they walk in.

Very nice facility. Poor coaching in football baseball. Tons of talent being waisted. The band is tops in the state.

nice new school very good as far as supplies, books, parent involvement, etc. but not too great as far as the administration...they seem unsure of things, a lot of the time

My husband and I have tried 2 times to meet with the principal. We are told that she can not meet with us; her schedule is too busy. There are also teachers playing severe favoritism (yes, I know this happens everywhere) and writing students up for having holes in the knees of their jeans while others have holes on their rearends and are not written up. Hmmm. Girls soccer does not have enough coaches (only 2 coaches to split btw Varsity and Jr. Varsity) IF the other team is over an hour late for the game, the game proceeds. With the amount of homework, my daugher was up past midnight to complete her homeowork. Sportsmanship is not everything.
